Shahramanyan meets with Artsakh rights council representatives

PanARMENIAN.Net - The members of the Council for the Protection of the Rights of People of Artsakh met with Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan on April 17 to discuss opportunities for cooperation based on the agenda published by the Council.

The parties reviewed the Council's work and considered possible coordination with the government. Council members also inquired about the authorities’ current policies and priorities, emphasizing the importance of aligning efforts to protect the rights and interests of displaced individuals.

The Council for the Protection of the Rights of Artsakh Residents has held protests in front of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office, aiming to highlight urgent unresolved issues that they believe require immediate attention. A source of widespread discontent has been the cancellation of the “AMD 40,000+10,000” monthly support program for forcibly displaced residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, which took effect on April 1. Many fear this move will accelerate emigration from the region.
