EU supports institutional reforms and fostering European values in Armenia
Meeting devoted to elaboration of proposals in the framework of the Program of cross-border cooperation of Black Sea countries launched in Yerevan. The program is supported by the Armenia's economy ministry and EU Regional Capacity Building initiative.

European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) is aimed at realizing institutional reforms and fostering European values in Armenia. In this context positive outcomes are expected, told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter RA deputy economy minister Vahe Danielyan.

"This is an instrument of EU Cross Border Cooperation (CBC) of Black sea area countries, which is as apposed to other tools aimed at funding non-governmental organizations to make the public aware of institutional reforms, previously introduced through Twinning, TAIEX and Sigma," he said.

According to Mr. Danielyan, Black Sea area countries can submit a joint program using the best European practices to EU Cross Border Cooperation and receive necessary funding.

The program can cover a wide range of spheres: from socio-economic to cultural.

"The application form and channels to search and identify potential partners in member countries will be discussed at the meeting. The organization can have a very good idea but not be able to shape it properly and present officially, which will run to failure, Vahe Danielyan said.

CBC Program, approved by the European Commission on November 27, 2008 and projected by 2013, envisages 10 per cent co-financing by member countries. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova are entirely included in the program, as well as neighboring regions of Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
