The meeting was attended by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan and Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Marek Pravda. Discussions also addressed Armenia-European Union cooperation, Poland’s upcoming presidency of the Council of the EU, and ongoing issues within the EU partnership context. The parties exchanged views on the need to engage and study experiences in European integration. Topics related to current international and regional developments were also reviewed. Deputy Foreign Minister Kostanyan presented recent developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, emphasizing the importance of signing a treaty on normalization of relations and unblocking regional communications. *On March 26, Armenia’s National Assembly approved a bill in its second and final reading to launch the process of joining the EU. The government had endorsed the initiative on January 9, based on a proposal by the civil movement Eurovote. However, the EU has not issued an official invitation for membership, and opposition parties have criticized the bill as legally absurd. The President of Armenia has signed the law. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk also stated that Armenia cannot “sit on two chairs” and must choose between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the EU.* ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
