RA security chief says corridors must not bypass national control![]() May 26, 2025 - 19:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan participated in a panel discussion titled “The South Caucasus as a Strategic Hub: Challenges and Opportunities in Trade and Connectivity,” held within the second Yerevan Dialogue international forum. Grigoryan emphasized that any process of unblocking transport routes in the region must preserve national sovereignty and jurisdiction and adhere to principles of reciprocity and legal equality. In response to questions, particularly about the Crossroads of Peace initiative, he explained that the Armenian government’s proposal aims to unblock regional communication routes, promote stability, and deepen economic cooperation—fostering interdependence within the region. He also stressed that the initiative is considered an integral component of the broader peace process. The Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace initiative centers on developing infrastructure between Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran. This includes building, restoring, and operating roads, railways, pipelines, communication cables, and power lines—each under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the states through which they pass. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
