Iran plans Pezeshkian’s visit to Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran intends to organize a visit by its newly elected president, Masoud Pezeshkian, to Armenia, Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh announced during a press briefing held as part of the Yerevan Dialogue 2025 international conference.

Khatibzadeh highlighted the advanced level of Armenia-Iran relations, stressing the continuation of high-level diplomatic exchanges. He noted that five official delegations are expected to visit Armenia this week.

He also recalled that Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan visited Iran last week.

“We are currently planning our head of state’s visit to Yerevan. Political consultations are ongoing between the two capitals, and economic relations are already at a high level. Once zero tariffs on transport are implemented, economic cooperation will rapidly expand,” said Khatibzadeh.

He added that productive cooperation has also taken shape in the field of advanced technologies.

The Iranian official further emphasized that tourism, culture, and people-to-people contacts are all showing steady positive momentum.

“I hope that after certain obstacles are overcome—especially following the signing of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty—we will be able to implement many projects that have so far remained unrealized,” Khatibzadeh said.

The Yerevan Dialogue international conference began in the Armenian capital on May 26.
