PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 2–3, the fifth Armenia–France decentralization cooperation conference will be held in Goris, in the building of the V. Vagharshyan State Drama Theater, according to Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Goris was chosen as the venue in recognition of Syunik Province’s strategic importance and the exemplary partnership between the Syunik region and France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

French guests attending include mayors, regional delegations, and parliamentarians—among them the heads of the France-Armenia friendship groups in the National Assembly and the Senate, Laurent Wauquiez and Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, as well as Fabrice Pannekoucke, president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Armenian participants will include representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Economy, Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and Labor and Social Affairs, as well as the Yerevan Municipality, and other regional and local delegates.

A French honorary consulate is set to open in Goris on June 2.
