Former Artsakh leader faces repeated questioning

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former President of Artsakh Samvel Shahramanyan appeared again before Armenia’s Investigative Committee for questioning on the morning of June 6, according to his attorney Roman Yeritsyan, cited by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Shahramanyan is being questioned as a witness, and law enforcement officials have not disclosed further details.

This marks the fifth time in recent weeks that the last leader of the unrecognized republic has been summoned to the Investigative Committee.

Two days earlier, Shahramanyan spent several hours at the committee in connection with a case concerning official negligence and the alleged handover of weapons to Azerbaijani forces during the 2023 attack. The investigation was launched following a report by Samvel Babayan, former Secretary of Artsakh’s Security Council.

Shahramanyan has also been summoned for questioning in connection with several other ongoing investigations.
