His remarks come amid ongoing domestic political developments and were reported by Yerkir.am. “Yes, we acknowledge that the ‘I Have Honor’ faction, following a call by the Republican Party’s Executive Body, has announced the initiation of an impeachment process, nominating Davit Hambardzumyan as their candidate and assuming political responsibility for the process. In line with our previous statement, the Hayastan bloc reaffirms its readiness to secure the missing 28 MP signatures within a reasonable timeframe to initiate the impeachment process in the National Assembly. We are also prepared for additional discussions with our colleagues in the ‘I Have Honor’ faction on this matter,” Ohanyan stated. The “I Have Honor” faction had earlier announced its intention to begin impeachment proceedings. On June 7, they unanimously nominated Masis community head Davit Hambardzumyan as their candidate for prime minister. Meanwhile, MPs Hovik Aghazaryan and Hakob Aslanyan, who left the ruling Civil Contract faction, have nominated Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the Bright Armenia Party, as a candidate for prime minister.
