Impeachment will succeed peacefully, activist claims

PanARMENIAN.Net - Edgar Ghazaryan, co-founder of the "We Are Awake" initiative, responded to a recent statement by the head of the Armenia faction, noting on Facebook that the number of MPs supporting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the National Assembly is steadily decreasing. He emphasized that impeachment will occur, and Pashinyan will be removed from office through peaceful and constitutional means, according to Panorama.am .

"As of June 9, Nikol Pashinyan enjoys the trust of 71 MPs in the National Assembly. A few months ago, this number was 107, then it became 105, then 99 as of Saturday, and now it’s 71. The number is not only decreasing but doing so rapidly. With just 18 more MPs making a sensible decision in line with the Constitution and legal norms, we will reach the desired number and outcome.

Impeachment will happen. Nikol Pashinyan will be removed lawfully, peacefully, and without bloodshed. A month ago, no one believed today’s reality. Some still don’t believe what’s coming," Ghazaryan wrote.

Earlier, Seyran Ohanyan, head of the Armenia faction, confirmed that they would secure the remaining 28 signatures needed to initiate the impeachment process.

On June 7, the I Have Honor faction unanimously decided to nominate Masis community leader Davit Hambardzumyan as their candidate for Prime Minister. Meanwhile, MPs Hovik Aghazaryan and Hakob Aslanyan, who left the "Civil Contract" faction, nominated Edmon Marukyan. However, the I Have Honor faction stated they would not support Marukyan’s candidacy, the leader of the Bright Armenia party.
