General Staff chief briefs Indian delegation on army reforms![]() June 9, 2025 - 18:57 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 9, at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense, First Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, met with a delegation from India's National Defence College, currently on a familiarization visit to Armenia until June 13. The delegation is led by Major General Samarth Nagar, according to the Ministry of Defense. Edward Asryan presented the main directions of ongoing reforms in the Armenian Armed Forces, the current approaches being implemented, and programmatic changes aimed at increasing the army’s efficiency and combat readiness. During the meeting, a number of regional and international security issues were also discussed. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
