Nemra rock band announces major concert for June 11

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nemra rock band announces a major concert for June 11 at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, marking the release of their first album in years.

Singer‑guitarist Van Yeghiazaryan explains the concert will blend old and new songs, not separating the two eras. The new album includes 11 tracks penned by Van and bassist/back‑up vocalist Vaspur Yeghiazaryan, all written in English, with a heavier sound than before. He notes, “We can’t perform every song from our first album—even though fans’ve suggested it—but playing them all would last until morning. Our goal is to focus on introducing the new album.”

Van adds the emotional content reflects experiences since their 2019 album, urging listeners to shift away from surface‑level living—“fast‑food party existence”—to deeper meaning. The album cover depicts a record discarded into fire during a party, meant to be rescued by those who seek thoughtful, melodic music.

The show will feature a song by Edgar Elbakyan, previously released with Lili, now exclusively in Nemra’s style. A raffle among the audience will award the winner a signed CD, T‑shirt, and tote bag, plus a post‑concert meet‑and‑greet.

When asked about a future Armenian‑language album, Van replies they won’t force creativity—it happens naturally. They already have two Armenian songs ready (including the released “Bacir achkerd”), but will only release an Armenian album when there are enough tracks—a process that will take time.

Keyboardist/back‑up vocalist Marianna Karakeyan shares growing excitement: “We recently shot a music video with Serj Tankian—we haven’t yet performed it live. At this concert we will, using his recorded vocals since he can’t be present.”

Bassist Vaspur Yeghiazaryan emphasizes this performance is also a step toward thinking about the band’s next album. Drummer Marek Zaborski assures, “My bandmates and I will do everything to fill the audience with energy and deliver high‑quality music.”
