Armen Ashotyan’s house arrest extended again

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Anti-Corruption Court has extended the house arrest of Armen Ashotyan, Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), by another two months. This was announced by his attorney, Tigran Atanesyan, according to Armenpress.

During the latest court session in Ashotyan’s case, Judge Vahe Dolmazian rejected the defense’s petition to cancel the preventive measure.

As a result, Ashotyan’s house arrest will remain in effect until August 11.

Ashotyan is accused of abuse of official authority and money laundering related to alleged misappropriations at the “Yerevan Mkhitar Heratsi State Medical University” foundation. The charges are considered to have caused serious consequences.
