Yerevan prepared for all escalation scenarios: NSC head

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, stated that Israel’s attack on Iran constitutes a violation of Iranian territorial integrity, warning of its deeply negative consequences for regional stability. Grigoryan made these remarks during a panel discussion at the APRI 2025 conference titled “Finding Stability in an Unstable World.”

Addressing Armenia’s response amid rising tensions, Grigoryan said Yerevan had already begun preparing and analyzing all potential escalation scenarios some time ago, Armenpress reports.

“We have reviewed all possible military escalation scenarios, carried out preparatory work accordingly, and developed operational plans. Based on these scenarios, we will act as planned,” he emphasized.

Grigoryan added that any such escalation has widespread implications for the entire region, undermining stability.

“This is a violation of Iran’s territorial integrity, which will inevitably have a negative impact on the region. We hope these issues can be resolved peacefully and as swiftly as possible,” the Security Council Secretary stressed.

On the night of June 13, Israel launched airstrikes on Iran’s capital Tehran, its surrounding areas, and other cities. The Natanz nuclear facility was also targeted. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier announced the operation under the codename “Rising Lion,” aimed at thwarting Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The strikes also hit residential buildings and killed high-ranking Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists. Iranian authorities have responded, vowing a firm and decisive retaliation against Israel’s actions.
