Pashinyan to visit Turkey for first high-level talks with Erdoğan![]() June 17, 2025 - 15:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will visit Turkey on June 20 at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan. “I confirm the visit, but for further details please contact the prime minister's press office,” Simonyan told reporters. He noted that Erdoğan had personally extended the invitation, as reported by Aysor.am . “All regional issues will be discussed during the visit. I believe it is a historic event, as it marks the first time a leader of Armenia will make a visit at this level,” he added. Earlier, Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council Armen Grigoryan had indicated the possibility of such a visit, saying Pashinyan might soon travel to Turkey for a meeting with Erdoğan. However, he had not clarified the potential agenda. On June 5, Pashinyan and Erdoğan held a phone conversation during which they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, agreeing to maintain dialogue. Notably, in June 2023, Pashinyan had traveled to Turkey on a working visit to attend Erdoğan’s inauguration ceremony. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
