Pashinyan’s Ankara visit was preventable — Gazaryan![]() June 20, 2025 - 14:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Timely decisions could have averted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s trip to Ankara and spared Armenia another disaster, says public and political figure Edgar Ghazaryan. He wrote on his Facebook page that if a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had been initiated in Parliament on April 28, the Prime Minister might not have traveled to Ankara and caused another disaster for the Armenian people. "If, after receiving our letters on April 28, the National Assembly had immediately begun impeachment proceedings against Nikol Pashinyan—instead of issuing empty and baseless statements—and people had made rational and situational decisions instead of presenting senseless demands, then it might have been possible to prevent Nikol Pashinyan’s trip to Ankara and another calamity for our people," Ghazaryan stated. He added that the same could have been achieved if the no-confidence process had begun back on August 23, 2022. "The August 30 meeting with Aliyev, the September 13 war, the October 6 capitulation in Prague, and the blockade and handover of Artsakh all followed from that date," he wrote. Pashinyan traveled to Turkey at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Thirteen officials are part of the Armenian delegation. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
