EU-Armenia visa dialogue in active phase

PanARMENIAN.Net - EU Ambassador Vassilis Maragos announced that the dialogue on visa liberalization between the European Union and Armenia is currently in an active phase. He made the statement during a discussion held within the framework of the EU-Armenia Civil Society Platform.

According to Maragos, this marks one of the new directions of cooperation outlined in the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), as reported by Armenpress.

“It is very important that in July of last year we decided to move forward in this direction. The work is ongoing,” Maragos stated.

The EU ambassador noted that concrete work is underway with Armenian authorities to prepare an action plan for visa liberalization. This plan is intended to guide sectoral reforms.

The European Commission began visa liberalization dialogue with Armenia following a decision at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting on July 22, 2024.
