Investigators release tapes tied to 'Sacred Struggle' group

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has responded to audio recordings released by Armenia’s Investigative Committee, which are part of an ongoing criminal case against the leadership and members of a group named “Sacred Struggle.” The tapes were obtained through covert investigative actions and allegedly reveal preparations for terrorism and an attempt to seize power.

Previously, authorities had announced that the group’s leaders and members planned to carry out terrorist acts and overthrow the government in Armenia.

On the morning of June 25, law enforcement began searches at the homes of supporters of the “Sacred Struggle” movement. The Investigative Committee reiterated that members of the movement had been planning terrorist actions and a power grab in Armenia.

On June 24, Prime Minister Pashinyan shared an article from civic.am titled “The Opposition's Coup Plan” on his Facebook page, commenting: “This process will go down in history as the failed coup of traitors.”
