International festival "Karot" to be held in Kremlin
Among 10 groups the Erebuni ethnographic dance ensemble will represent Belarusian Armenians in Moscow during the finale of the Karot International Armenian festival.
According to the Erkramas newspaper of Armenians in Russia, the ensemble became the best performer at the "Karot Miasin" gala concert premiered on May 31, 2009 in Minsk. The event was timed to the Day of Republic of Armenia.
The "Karot" festival is organized on the stage of Russia's State Kremlin Palace every year. Winners of the Minsk festival of Belarusian Armenians have been granted the opportunity to take part in this high cultural show.
In his greeting at the opening of the Karot festival Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II particularly said, "the event bares testimony of organizers' noble mission to support Armenians living far from their Motherland, who with the help of the national culture maintain universal values".
Festival's organizing committee expressed gratitude for help and support, rendered by the Authorized Representative for Matters of Religions and Nationalities under the Council of Ministers of Belarus, Republican Center of National Cultures under the Ministry of Culture, Armenian Embassy in Belarus, non-governmental organizations of the Armenian community of the country.
