Opposition MP doubts progress on captives, territories

PanARMENIAN.Net - Taguhi Tovmasyan, an MP from the I Have Honor faction, raised the issue of Armenian captives held in Baku ahead of the planned meeting in the United States and the signing of documents between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Writing on her Facebook page, she stated:

“Our captives will still have to wait — a very long time… The territories occupied from Armenia will also remain seized… The main thing is to sign a document; elections are only months away.”

On August 8, U.S. President Donald Trump will host Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the White House. Separate meetings will be followed by a trilateral session, during which Trump says Pashinyan and Aliyev will formally sign a peace agreement along with other documents.
