Kristine Vardanyan, an MP from the Hayastan parliamentary faction, addressed on Facebook what she described as explicit preconditions advanced by Azerbaijan and Turkey, which the government refuses to acknowledge.

She wrote: “No, no, there are no preconditions, just that—

• Azerbaijan demanded constitutional changes — we launched the process.
• Turkey demanded silence on the Armenian Genocide — we no longer pursue international recognition, and even condemn leaders who recognize it, saying it gives us nothing.
• Turkey demanded dropping all references to Mount Ararat — we’ve launched a campaign against it, removing it wherever possible.
• Azerbaijan demanded the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group — we agreed.
• Azerbaijan demanded no third-country forces on the border — we agreed.
• Azerbaijan demanded we not strengthen the army — we are complying.

Those who support this policy and think we’re exaggerating can say: at what point will these demands end? When will we reach the thesis, ‘Give Yerevan or there will be war’?”

On November 1, 2025, Armenia’s border entry and exit stamps will no longer carry the image of Mount Ararat, following a government decision adopted as a non-reportable item. Labor and Social Affairs Minister and Civil Contract board member Arsen Torosyan said the stamps were adjusted to meet modern border requirements and the ideology of “Real Armenia.”
