Masis mayor says opposition must act, not just comment

PanARMENIAN.Net - Speaking to reporters outside parliament during the debate on the I Have Honor faction’s draft statement on national crisis and governance failure, Masis Mayor David Hambardzumyan stressed that real opposition forces must first stand together.

“All opposition forces, if they are truly opposition, must unite,” he said, Panorama.am reported.

He emphasized that the mechanism to declare no confidence in Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan already exists: “Let’s use it. Instead, we’re sitting idle, making comments about whether this will work or not, whether Civil Contract will join or not. First unite as opposition, then talk about CC.”

Responding to a journalist’s remark that some consider the use of this mechanism unserious at this stage, Hambardzumyan replied: “What’s serious? Sitting idle, or writing comments? Dear opposition colleagues, unite before it’s too late.”

The National Assembly is currently debating the draft statement initiated by the I Have Honor faction.
