OSCE chair welcomes Yerevan’s civil society engagement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Elina Valtonen, Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, said she was pleased to witness the Armenian government’s open approach to engaging in dialogue with civil society during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

“As the OSCE Chair, Finland strongly prioritizes the strength of democratic foundations, transparency, and the ability of citizens to participate in decisions and make choices,” Valtonen said, as reported by 1lurer.am.

Addressing Armenia–Finland relations, she stated: “We highly value our bilateral relations with Armenia and hope they will grow even stronger going forward.

We welcome the continued engagement and partnership between Armenia and Finland at all levels — political, economic, and in upholding and advancing the pillars of peace and prosperity.”

On her working visit to Armenia, OSCE Chair Elina Valtonen also expressed support for the joint Armenian–Azerbaijani request to terminate the OSCE Minsk Group.
