ANC condemns MC corporation's decision to suspend funding

PanARMENIAN.Net - Any democracy and human rights sanctions against Armenia should be directed against the country's Government which is responsible for the existing situation, ANC coordinator Levon Zourabyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent, commenting upon Millennium Challenges Corporation's (MCC) decision to suspend funding project for Armenia. "The whole problem is that those sanctions are against Armenian people's vs. Government's interests, that's why I am against the decision," Mr. Zourabyan stressed.

American Millennium Challenges (MC) corporation suspends its funding project. Such decision was adopted during directors' board meeting presided over by Hillary Clinton. As mentioned by corporation's General Director Rodney Benta, responsibility for the decision lies upon Armenian Government which does not act in conformity with the Corporation's principles aimed at developing democratic governance, US State Department's Press Service reports.
