Pashinyan says TRIPP has nuances linked to Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - During a meeting in Saint Petersburg, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Armenia is engaged in highly constructive bilateral negotiations with the United States on implementing and building the TRIPP project.

“These are truly significant and substantial changes for our region. There are also many nuances related to Russia and our bilateral relations. And today, I think, is a great opportunity to discuss all these issues,” Pashinyan said.

He also stated that the peace achieved between Armenia and Azerbaijan would open new avenues for advancing bilateral ties between Armenia and Russia.

Earlier, Mikhail Kalugin, Director of the Fourth Department for CIS Countries at Russia’s Foreign Ministry, stated that Moscow is open to consultations with Armenia on the parameters of the TRIPP project and possible Russian involvement. Kalugin added that the route in question would largely pass through areas under the responsibility of Russian border guards.
