Ashotyan says RPA never offered alliance to ANC

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armen Ashotyan, Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), responded via Facebook to remarks made during a recent Armenian National Congress (ANC) event, firmly denying that RPA ever proposed a political alliance with the ANC.

“It’s no secret that we’ve had, and still have, numerous disagreements, but today’s realities and the critical demand for political culture and ideas in the country require the engagement of actors who carry values, history, and principles regardless of those disagreements,” Ashotyan wrote.

He specifically addressed ANC Vice President Aram Manukyan’s claim that the ANC had “rejected a bloc with the Republican Party.”

“I officially state: the Republican Party has never proposed a bloc format to the ANC. Therefore, something that didn’t happen could not have been rejected,” Ashotyan said.

He also noted that RPA has not yet announced its position regarding participation in the upcoming elections.

“As for the dismissive-style criticism directed at us, I will refrain from responding, at least for now, as a gesture of goodwill,” he concluded.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 2026.
