Chairman of Armenia’s Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan met on January 26 with a U.S. Congressional delegation led by Lance Kokonos, a representative of the House Foreign Affairs Committee staff.
The sides discussed the implementation of the Trump Route to International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative, emphasizing its significance and outlining upcoming steps within its framework.
Khandanyan highlighted the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States.
He also briefed the delegation on recent developments in Armenia’s normalization processes with Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed a joint document in Washington on U.S.–Armenia cooperation within the TRIPP framework.
The published TRIPP document outlines operational guidelines for the initiative and explicitly states that it does not create or intend to create legal obligations for either Armenia or the United States.
