On January 27, Armenia’s Ambassador to Germany Viktor Yengibaryan and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Nasimi Aghayev took part in a panel discussion titled “Turning Point in the South Caucasus: Historic Peace Between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Germany’s Role and Europe’s New Eastern Link.”
The event was held under the auspices of the Bundestag's Foreign Affairs Committee Chair, Armin Laschet, the Armenian Embassy in Germany reported.
In his speech, Ambassador Yengibaryan thanked the German government and especially Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul for their constructive engagement and support in the South Caucasus. Wadephul had previously chaired the Bundestag’s Germany–South Caucasus Friendship Group.
Dozens of experts, members of parliament, and media representatives attended the event. The discussion was initiated by the Institute for International Cooperation, Technological Diplomacy, and Communication at Munich’s Maximilian University and Aachen University.
Separately, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington signed a document on Armenia-U.S. cooperation under the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative.
The published document on TRIPP outlines the operational framework of the initiative, which does not create legal obligations for either Armenia or the United States.
