Vance arriving in Yerevan February 9

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance will arrive in Armenia on February 9 and will head to Azerbaijan the following day, according to his spokesperson, as reported by RFE/RL.

The spokesperson confirmed that Vance will be in Armenia from February 9 to 10 and in Azerbaijan from February 10 to 11. He is expected to return to Washington on Wednesday evening.

Although Yerevan has yet to officially release the agenda for Vance’s visit, it signals that new announcements regarding bilateral relations are expected.

The U.S. Department of State also announced that Jacob Helberg, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, will accompany Vice President Vance on his visit to both Armenia and Azerbaijan.

According to the State Department, the trip aims to support President Trump’s peace efforts and promote the advancement of the TRIPP initiative.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed a joint document in Washington under the TRIPP initiative, outlining collaborative efforts between Armenia and the U.S.

The published TRIPP implementation document describes the procedural framework for the initiative. It does not create and is not intended to create any legal commitments or obligations for either Armenia or the United States.
