Businessman and philanthropist, founder of the “Proposal to Armenia” initiative, Gagik Tsarukyan, said that the identity of their candidate for prime minister will be revealed in due time, stressing that the nominee is “neither from the former authorities nor the new.”
“The time will come, and it will be announced who the prime ministerial candidate is—our candidate is neither from the former authorities nor the new. Today our country needs a prime minister of the future,” Tsarukyan told journalists outside a courthouse, Panorama.am reports.
Asked about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s videos about “strong guys,” Tsarukyan said: “We are strong through our actions. You can ask the public. Today, Armenia faces many challenges, and we need to think about them.”
Commenting on claims that those announcing participation in elections face detention, Tsarukyan said he himself had been detained and checked.
“I was detained, I was checked. If a person is clean and confident, what should they fear?” he said.
