Armenia-France defense ties discussed in Paris![]() March 27, 2026 - 12:57 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, on an official visit to France, met on March 26 with General Vincent Girard, military adviser to the French president and head of the special military staff, to discuss cooperation in the defense sector. The meeting was attended by Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France, Arman Khachatryan. The sides addressed a number of issues related to international security. Papikyan also met representatives of French defense companies at the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF). During the meeting, issues concerning cooperation between Armenia’s Ministry of Defense and enterprises of the French military-industrial sector were discussed. In 2023, Armenia and France signed agreements on military cooperation, under which France supplies Armenia with radars and missiles, and provides advisory support for army reforms. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
