Court acquits Avetisyan in Pashinyan remark case

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Yerevan Court of First Instance has terminated the criminal prosecution against Davit Avetisyan, son of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) council member Varuzhan Avetisyan, according to the party’s press service.

“Davit is just and innocent.

Let us recall that on July 2, 2023, at noon, Davit Avetisyan encountered Nikol Pashinyan near English Park and told him that he would be held accountable for our fallen heroes. After that, Davit was forcibly taken to the Central Police Department, detained, and charged.

In November 2024, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Roman Smbatyan, found Davit Avetisyan guilty and imposed a fine of 525,000 drams.

This verdict was overturned by the Court of Appeal and sent for a new trial, as a result of which Davit Avetisyan was acquitted and the prosecution against him was terminated,” the statement said.
