Pashinyan signals key developments in France ties

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that important developments are expected soon in Armenia–France relations during a meeting with a delegation led by Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, head of the France–Armenia friendship group in the French Senate.

The prime minister emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, noting that significant events are anticipated in this direction. He also underlined that France’s support at various levels has been highly appreciated.

Devinaz stated that strong ties have been established between the parliaments of France and Armenia. According to him, compared to previous years of tension, a calmer environment is now visible in Armenia, aimed at achieving peace. In this context, he highlighted Pashinyan’s role and efforts toward consolidating peace.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities to expand cooperation across various sectors, including energy, agriculture, and education.

The discussion also touched upon regional developments and ongoing processes.

French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to visit Armenia on a state visit in May. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan and French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies have already discussed details of the upcoming visit.
