
Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan met in Bangkok with Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana to discuss cooperation between Armenia and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in the context of COP17.
The sides highly appreciated the existing cooperation between Armenia and ESCAP and explored opportunities for further deepening it, particularly in the fields of transport and digital connectivity. In this context, they emphasized the importance of exchanging experience and strengthening capacities.
Abisoghomonyan presented Armenia’s priorities in promoting regional connectivity, viewing it as a key factor for peace, stability, economic development, and social progress. He also highlighted the importance of fully utilizing the transit and logistics potential of the South Caucasus, emphasizing the implementation of the TRIPP program.
The 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) is scheduled to take place from October 18 to 30, 2026, at the Meridian Expo Center in Yerevan.
