PM spokesperson denies village transfer reports

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nazeli Baghdasaryan, press secretary of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, has stated that reports about transferring Jiliza village of the Alaverdi community to Georgia do not correspond to reality, rejecting circulating claims of such an agreement.

“We have denied, deny, and will continue to deny,” she wrote.

According to Baghdasaryan, a number of media outlets have circulated “information” claiming that within the framework of the border delimitation process, an agreement was allegedly reached under which Armenia would transfer Jiliza village of the enlarged Alaverdi community.

“Any statement, idea, or ‘information’ about an intention, plan, or agreement to transfer any part of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia to another country cannot correspond to reality by its very nature.

Therefore, as before, we have denied, deny, and will deny any such publications due to their fabricated nature,” Baghdasaryan wrote.

On April 27, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that finalizing the border delimitation process with Georgia is on the government’s agenda.
