"DASHNAKTSUTYUN" PARTY CALLING NOT TO BELIEVE ILLUSIONS OF TURKISH AUTHORITIES' "GOOD WILL" TOWARD ARMENIA
Armenian structures and organizations abroad should defy the intrigues of official Ankara striving to create for the US and the European Union the illusion of "good will" toward Armenia. The statement of "Dashnaktsutyun" Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Bureau head office for political issues runs. The party appealed to Armenians to be consistent and not to jeopardize the interests of all Armenians and Armenia, it has followed as far. According to the document, the Turkish leadership has recently attached a new turn to the anti-Armenian policy pursued by it, having inserted in the school program the active propaganda of denying the Armenian Genocide of 1915 in Ottoman Turkey. The insincerity of friendliness displayed by Ankara toward Armenia, in ARF's opinion, was seen in Turkish prime minister Recep Erdogan's recent statement in Kars where he said that the government of his country spoke for improvement of relations with Armenia in case the latter stops putting forth efforts for the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide. As the statement runs, "Dashnaktsutyun" has many times stated that it speaks in favor of the development of normal relations between Armenia and Turkey but only in case of the historical truth recognition. "Any Armenian-Turkish dialogue can be effective only after the recognition by Turkey the fact of the Armenian Genocide, raising the blockade of Armenia as well as changing of preconceived position on the Karabakh issue", - it is emphasized in the ARF Bureau's statement.
