Armenia records strong growth, moderate inflation

Armenia is currently experiencing strong economic growth alongside inflation that remains elevated but not excessively high, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia Armen Nurbekyan said during a parliamentary session.

Lawmakers are discussing the Central Bank’s annual report on its activities.

According to Nurbekyan, the most significant uncertainties for Armenia’s macroeconomic outlook in 2026 are primarily geopolitical, including risks related to fluctuations in global oil prices, 1lurer.am reported.

In his assessment, developments within Armenia’s domestic economy remain largely positive, particularly in terms of demand.

“We are seeing very significant growth in tourism, which has generated substantial foreign currency inflows. From a demand perspective, the overall environment is quite favorable,” Nurbekyan said.

He stressed that inflation within the domestic economy should remain a key area of attention, as it is currently above the target level set by the Central Bank.
