Armenia exports 162 tonnes of apricots

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has already exported 162 tonnes of apricots, with the first shipments sent to Ukraine and Georgia, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan announced during the government’s June 18 meeting.

Papoyan noted that between June 1 and June 17, Armenia exported 411 tonnes of greenhouse vegetables and strawberries, as well as approximately 1.8 million flowers.

The main export destinations by volume were Georgia, Uzbekistan, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia, Romania, Czech Republic, Austria, Netherlands, France, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Russia has imposed restrictions on the import of several Armenian products. In particular, imports of Jermuk mineral water, flowers and certain alcoholic beverages have been banned. Restrictions have also been introduced on a number of agricultural products, including tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries.

Since June 2, Russia has restricted imports from Armenia of cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, grapes and other stone fruits, as well as their transit to other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Since June 3, Russia has also imposed restrictions on imports of eggplants, potatoes and dried fruits originating from and exported by Armenia.
