
Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan, during a meeting with Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi, said the energy sector is one of the key areas of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a broad range of issues on the Armenia-Iran energy cooperation agenda. In particular, they reviewed progress on construction of the third 400 kV Armenia-Iran power transmission line, highlighting the project's strategic importance for strengthening interconnection between the two countries' energy systems, increasing mutual electricity flows and expanding regional energy cooperation.
The ministers also discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in renewable energy, emphasizing the importance of implementing joint projects and promoting new investment initiatives.
The sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue active cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, contributing to the energy security and sustainable development of both countries.
Khudatyan visited the construction site of a new tunnel being built by Iranian company Tunnel Sad Ariana, as well as the control center of the Tehran-North road. The minister toured both sites and familiarized himself with the work underway.
