Opposition candidate detained in Gyumri

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Anti-Corruption Committee has detained Ashot Khachatryan in Gyumri, a former parliamentary candidate from the Hayastan Alliance.

The committee said:

"Within the framework of another criminal proceeding initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia concerning cases of giving and receiving election bribes, another individual who had been a parliamentary candidate on the Hayastan Alliance list was detained today," the committee said, according to Factor.am .

On July 29, in a separate criminal proceeding, the Anti-Corruption Committee also detained Ara Nakhshkaryan, a public intellectual from Gyumri who had likewise participated in the elections on the Hayastan Alliance list.
