Armenia takes the lead over Russia in terms of creating favorable conditions for childbirth

PanARMENIAN.Net - Save the Children organization has drawn up a list of 125 states to estimate the situation with childbirth and mother care. Armenia ranks as the 37th state, leaving behind Russia and Uzbekistan which shared the 27th horizon. Kazakhstan was on the 32nd horizon, Turkmenistan - on the 44th horizon, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan - on the 52nd horizon and Tajikistan - on the 69th horizon.



Moldova is among the top 3 CIS states in the list. In the general rating list, it ranks as the 24th country in terms of creating favorable conditions for childbirth and establishing proper care of mothers. The top two CIS states are Belarus (16th horizon) and Ukraine (21st horizon).



Researchers have also taken into consideration such factors as mother and child mortality rate, right methods of using modern methods of contraception and development of medicine depending on women's health condition.



Thus, according to the report, most comfortable is the situation with mothers in Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Denmark and Finland). Expenses for child delivery and pre-natal care in Armenia are covered by the state.

Under existing laws, the state provides one-time childbirth allowances in the amount of AMD 35 thousand, in addition to monthly payments in the amount of AMD 18 thousand.
