Online survey: Madrid Principle are all in all unacceptable for Armenia and NKR
Considering the importance of public opinion with regard to Madrid Principles and the current stage of Karabakh settlement talks, Political Developments Research Center has conducted an online inquiry to find out "Whether Madrid Principles are acceptable for Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh". The survey was conducted within a month, involving Armenian and Diaspora-Armenian Internet users aged 18-40, Head of Research Centre Vahan Dilanyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

The question whether those principles are acceptable for Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh was sent to 3651 users who were in turn divided into two target groups: active young people aged 18-30 and a scientific expert group (aged 25-40)," Head of centre stressed.

According to Dilanyan, 61.30% of respondents (1239 individuals) find Madrid Principles unacceptable for Armenia and Nagorno Karbakh. 24.34% (492 individuals) said they were unacceptable, and 14.25% (288 respondents) did not give any answer.

"Survey results fully do not reflect public opinion in Armenia and Diaspora. But Armenian authorities should take them into consideration. While conducting survey, our center received a lot of comments. Their authors mostly criticized Madrid Principles and OSCE former Co-Chair Matthew Bryza's statements. In their comments, people expressed concerns that Madrid Principles did not guarantee NKR's security," Dilanyan said.
