Nerses Yeritsyan: Armenian-Spanish collaboration is not used to its full potential
Armenian-Spanish collaboration is not used to its full potential, RA Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan believes. According to him, product turnover between the two countries comprised about USD 8 million in 2009. "This is a low index, compared with other EU states, still there's a potential for economic collaboration development," he noted.

According to the Minister, Spain has a rather diversified and dynamically developing economy and Valencia's entrepreneurs are interested in the search of new markets. Yeritsyan noted that Spanish entrepreneurs' visit to Armenia is of introductory character, still it's possible further discussions will result in conclusion of agreements.

The government is interested in offering assistance to entrepreneurs in their attempt to enter new markets, and find new opportunities. ''The business forum will become a great opportunity to present collaboration and business development perspectives in Armenia to Spanish entrepreneurs.''

As the Minister reported, Armenia is importing ceramics and sea products from Spain and exporting raw material. There are a few Armenian-Spanish enterprises in Armenia , some of them based on Spanish capital stock.

Yerevan is hosting Armenian-Spanish business forum, with Armenian and Spanish representatives of industry, telecommunications, information technologies, tourism, construction and energetics among forum participants.

During their visit, Spanish entrepreneurs met RA Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan, Transportation Minister Gurgen Sargsyan and Municipal Engineering Minister Vardan Vardanyan to discuss programs implemented in government-private sector collaboration framework, as well as investment opportunities.
