IN YEREVAN ARMENIAN-TURKISH COMMISSION ON RECONCILIATION DISCUSSED PERSPECTIVES OF ITS ACTIVITY RECOMMENCEMENT
In Yerevan the meeting of the members of the Armenian-Turkish commission on reconciliation took place today. According to «Arminfo» agency reports, at the meeting the parts discussed the perspectives of recommencement of the commission activity stopped last year-end. At the same time, as Armenian part representatives have reported, the meeting is not to be considered as recommencement of the commission activity. It should be reminded the Armenian-Turkish commission on reconciliation is the public initiatives of Armenia and Turkey. Four representatives of the Armenian part and six Turkish representatives are included in the commission. The committee stopped its activity in December, 2001 after the Turkish part had appealed separately the international legal organization not to consider the issue on the 1915 Armenian genocide correspondence with the UNO genocide convention. Before that, the Armenian and Turkish commission representatives had appealed the organization to consider that issue.
