Animator Robert Sahakyants dies in YerevanSeptember 24, 2009 - 22:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - After lingering illness and serious operation, animator Robert Sahakyants died in Yerevan today.Robert Sahakyants was born in 1950 in Baku. Since 1964 he was residing in Yerevan, where he finished school and was suspended from Khachatur Abovyan Institute for non-attendance. By that time he started working at Armenfilm Studio as an animation artist and later as an animation director. He authored around a hundred films, many of which were granted awards at international festivals in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan as well as Kiev, Yerevan, Moscow, Tallin.
