Ambik Sarafyan: Diaspora and Armenian authorities do not share similar views
Diaspora doesn't think Armenian-Turkish Protocols will improve Armenia's situation, Ambik Sarafyan, Head of Social-Democratic Hnchakyan party in US, told a news conference in Yerevan. Protocols, he said, contained clauses that posed threat to Armenia. Besides, he noted that Turkish side was better prepared for talks.

"Armenian authorities are not entitled to conduct talks over Genocide issue on behalf of Diaspora," Safaryan said. At that he noted that Armenian Diaspora was formed as a result of Armenian Genocide.

"Genocide has been and continues to remain a key issue for Diaspora," he stressed, adding that Diaspora Armenians would continue fighting for justice.

Politician also said that Diaspora and Armenian authorities did not share similar views. "Armenia and Diaspora should create a committee which will determine what issues should be tackled by each party," Ambik Safaryan said.
