Initiator in Armenian-Turkish process is RA President Serzh Sargsyan, who last year invited his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul to watch football match, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandyan told today a parliamentary hearing.

Since the very start of the process, Armenian side clearly stated the unacceptability of any Turkish-imposed preconditions, Foreign Minister stressed. "We announced then that if Turkish side hoped we'd accept preconditions, we'd better refrain from normalization process," Nalnandyan said.

To MPs' question on renouncing Kars Treaty and not recognizing the present-day Turkish borders, Foreign Minister answered that those borders were established under Soviet-Turkish Treaty and being ASSR's legal successor, Republic of Armenia has undertaken commitment to respect all treaties signed between USSR and other states.
