BSEC Foreign Ministers met in Baku
Baku hosted the 21st meeting of BSEC Foreign Ministers following the session of organization's senior representatives.
The meeting presided over by Azeri FM Elmar Mamedyarov was attended by delegations representing organization's 12 member states. Armenian delegation was led by Deputy FM Arman Kirakosyan.
Council of BSEC Foreign Minister discussed and adopted decisions on a range of key issues on enhancing effectiveness of organization's activities, priority trends and BSEC-EU cooperation.
In his speech, Armenian Deputy FM Arman Kirakosyan touched upon prospects of multilateral cooperation within organization. He attached special importance to cooperation without preconditions as a pledge of settling problems in region. As the best example, Armenian official referred to RA-Turkish Protocols on normalization of bilateral ties.
Recently signed Protocols were also discussed by BSEC Secretary General Leonidas Chrisanthopoulos who highlighted the importance of documents in terms of extending and developing cooperation in region, particularly within BSEC format.
At the end of Foreign Ministers' meeting, Azerbaijan handed over BSEC Chairmanship to Bulgaria.
