Volume IV of "Church Chronicle": speechеs of St. John Vorotnetsi come out
 


 
Publishing Department of Echmiadzin with the blessing of the Catholicos of All Armenians Garekin II has published the Volume IV "Church Chronicle": St. John Vorotnetsi (Hovhannes Vorotnetsi) speeches.

The book contains seven original analytical-spiritual speeches of the church leader, theologian, philosopher and educator of XIV century John Vorotnetsi.  The book also includes studies prepared for the publication by Anush Minasyan. The work was published under patronage of  "Sarkis Gabrielian" foundation.

Hovhannes Vorotnetsi (John Vorotnetsi) (1315-1386) - Armenian philosopher, educator, church and political figure. He studied philosophy at the Gladzor University. In 1345 he founded the Tatev University - the largest scientific and cultural center of medieval Armenia. He developed the tradition of Aristotelianism. The greatest works of Hovhannes Vorotnetsi are interpretations to the "Categorie" and "On the interpretation" of Aristotle, to the "Introduction" of Porfiry. Grigor Tatevatsi was a disciple and follower of Hovhannes Vorotnetsi.
