International Conference "Armenian national epic and the epic world heritage" to be held in Yerevan November 12-14
National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Armenia will host an international scientific conference from November 12 to 14 "The Armenian national epic and epic world heritage". The conference on epic heritage has been organized by the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the NAS of RA and the Scientific Research Center of Armenian literature Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University.
The Conference will be opened by the Director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography Vladimir Barkhudaryan and RAU rector Armen Darbinyan.
Scientists from Los Angeles, Bonn, New Delhi, Sukhumi, Vanadzor and Yerevan will make speeches at a three-day conference.
There will be presentations on the following topics "Results and prospects of research of the Armenian epic" (Samvel Harutyunyan), "Comparison of Armenian and Caucasian epics" (Armen Petrosyan), "The relationship of records of Portuguese travelers of 16th century to Braves from Sasun (Peter Kaui ), "Duel of David and Mher in the context of Indo-European heroic poetry" (Karl Reichl), "Abkhazian Abrskil and Armenian Mher (Zurab Dzhapua), etc.
