  Martiros Saryan's 130th anniversary to be celebrated in Tretyakovskaya Gallery in 2010November 16, 2009 - 13:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A number of events in celebration of acclaimed painter Martiros Saryan's 130th anniversary are planned in 2010.On February 28, Martiros Saryan's Museum in Yerevan will host an exhibition of the master's photographies, authored by Andranik Kochar, Gavuk. On the same day, an exhibition of painter's works will be opened at Tretyakovskaya Gallery, Sofia Saryan, senior executive at Martiros Saryan Museum Fund told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. "Symbol of tree in Saryan's works" art exhibition featuring 30 of the master's paintings, will take place in Armenia. The event will be organized with the assistance of RA Ministry of Culture. According to Sofia Saryan, a conference dedicated to Armenian master's works is also scheduled. Martiros Saryan was born in 1880 in Nakhichevan-on-Don. However, his historical fatherland - Armenia, occupies a major place in his works. Experts indicate influence of his favorite artists Matisse and Gauguin and his immediate teachers Valentin Serov and Konstantin Korovin on his canvases. The phrase 'clear, sonorous color' is usually used next to the surname of Saryan. Russian, French painting and Armenian art traditions interweaving has resulted in the birth of a unique Saryan style.
